Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

Massage is excellent to treat musculo-skeletal injuries such as back / neck / shoulder pain. It serves as a great way to relaxed and unwind in a busy, full lifestyle and can assist in preparing for sporting events. Pregnancy massage can support the body as it adjusts and changes.

These are examples of some of the things that we can do for you. Contact us if you would like advice as we are happy to assist you in making an informed decision about your massage treatment.

Therapeutic massage is manipulation of the soft tissues of the body that works within the musculo-skeletal system. It is a hands-on treatment which involves applying pressure to muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints.

Therapeutic massage is designed to address specific problems associated with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation, and can reduce inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis, tendonitis and other muscular conditions. Specific muscles can be targeted using neuromuscular techniques; this is great for the relief of trigger points and pain with both acute and chronic injuries.

Massage has wonderful benefits as it caters for anything from stress management and relaxation to injury work, a fantastic scope. It is effective on its own, and in conjunction with Acupuncture treatment.

acupressure

Acupressure is a therapeutic approach guided by Chinese Medical Theory. Application is based on increasing the circulation and functioning of Qi (vital energy) through the meridians that connect internal and external functioning of the body.

Acupressure is a form of manipulation that uses the fingers/thumbs to apply pressure to traditional acupuncture points. When applied, it can correct internal malfunctioning, promote and maintain health, stimulate blood circulation and release muscle tension. It can help relieve acute pain, manage chronic conditions and be used for general health maintenance.
